Loading arms : Sectors of activity

The loading or unloading arm is used to transfer a liquid or a liquefied gas from one road tanker or rail tanker to another. Transferring cargo from a tanker (road or rail) requires a top loading arm (top loading or unloading) or a bottom loading arm (bottom loading or unloading via a dedicated coupling system). The loading or unloading of a boat or barge will be done using a marine loading arm for inland waterway or offshore marine vessels. The tanker top loading operations are performed through the manholes and access hatches located at the top of the tanker.
